girls are mean.

I miss my cousin so much!! Last year at this time, we were standing on the space needle in Seattle.
Then we watched fireworks on TV later that night.

Well, welcome in 2010.

And what better way to welcome in 2010 then with new, cute hair?
I have a folder in my pictures where I keep photos of cute haircuts.

So, I'll open it up and show you what's inside:

(I don't own any of these photos, nor remember where I got most of them. They are mostly from google images)

101 dalmatians

Wow...2010 is almost here. 2 days!!
2 DAYS?!
oh my word....where does time go?
haha.
Well, I guess it's time for me to think up that new year resolution. (Last years resolution was not to have one).
I could try to me more stylish or chic....I could try to make more friends....I could minister more to my friends....or I could do what G-d wants me to do.
I like the last two.

You see, each year for the past 2 year's I keep a little handmade notebook that records dramatic/important events of the year.

I recommend starting one, it is really great to look back and see the past events.
But I also highly, highly, highly recommend keeping a journal. I know it can be difficult to swing into a routine, but trust me, you will be thankful you have it.

I write in my journal every night, usually filling up a 250 page every three months. (Ok, I'll admit, last night I didn't write).

For me, writing is easy. I love making my characters suffer from dramatic events of my novels. But that's besides the point.

Lets say, each night for 3 weeks you write for 10 minutes.
That's 21 days of writing.
Think you can do it? I know you can.
I mean, think about it. A place all your own, for your eyes only. A place where you can write anything you want. Anything.
A place to scribble violently when your angry. A place to fall in love. A place to pray. A place that is totally and completely, you.

Ok...so that really has nothing to do with fashion, but I did say that this blog has evolved more into my life and fashion, right?

Now, onto fashion.
I LOVE THE PRE-FALL 2010 DVF COLLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY HUMAN COULD TAKE AN OUTFIT OFF THE RUNWAY AND PUT IT ON THEIR BODY, WEAR IT AROUND TOWN AND LOOK COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY STYLISH.
Not weird- stylish.

100th post!!!

woooo. :P

So on Sunday I went shopping with some of the money I got over the holidays.

It felt so strange to pick something up and know I could just like, buy it.
It got lots of stuff. I upgraded my jewelry and bought numerous amounts of tops, 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of REAL suede flat boots.

The most amazing thing was the boots.
They were 50% off, making them $47.00. The fake suede ones at payless are $44.00. And there fake.

So, if your looking for fabulous boots, check out Cathy Jean.

When we were in stores I noticed LOTS of ballerina-type things. Lots of duty pink and grey colors, tulle, embellishments on shirts and cardigans.
Sort of like the Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010 show.

I also noticed lots of nautical things. Such as necklaces with anchors on them.

Which is odd because for fashion class back in the summer I designed a line that was U.S. Navy-inspired. They must have gotten inspiration from my line. *sniff sniff* haha kj.

OK I'M GOING TO GO OFF TOPIC NOW:

I have been loving the color combo yellow and white and green and white.
I know its random, but I thought I'd just let you know.

I love my dog.
GOD is awesome.

1 Corinthians 13:-7:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Meh doggg:

Now, I want to hear from you (whoever you are), what is YOUR style?

Sometimes I feel like I'm typing into some vortex that disappears into page 781 of google search 'fashion blogs'.
Are you out there? anyone?

the launch of brilliance

Yesterday Amina and Safia and I went thrifting...trying to find vintage peaces that we could re-create for our line.
The problem is, we get sidetracked very easily.
So while we went in, hoping to find a great peaces that we could take from ugly to ultra-glam, we came out with a Liz Claiborne blazer (AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
They are amazing, but now were planning on working on our line today and we will mostly be sketching...not sewing.
So the mission remains un-accomplished. For now.

Great Lip Gloss Colors For Winter

Treat your lips right this season!
Winter means dry skin and chapped lips.
Don't let the harsh weather ruin flaunting your style!!This winter, ultra-glossy, luster lips are in.

Colors like fuchsia, nudes, sheer, baby pink, plum and magenta are just a few of the hot colors.

Need help picking the right gloss color for you skin type?

I have you covered:

PAIL SKIN:
Sheer, baby pinks. Even a great sheer mauve color will look fabulous.
Our favorite is Co.Bigelow in Pink Mint. It's a great, sheer mauve. You can get it at Bath and Body Works for about $5 dollars.

FAIR SKIN:
For winter go with a color that's slightly darker then your natural lip color. Get a pink with a purplish undertone, but not plum or anything.
We like Organic Wear in Super Pink. You can get it at Walmart for about $5-7. Or Amazon.com for $4.29.

MEDIUM/OLIVE SKIN:
Go for a nude, ultra-glossy gloss. Don't want to be nude? raisin color or sheer magenta will look excellent with your skin.

DARK SKIN:
berries and pinks always look great on you. Nude and golden honey's will enhance your skin tone.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE LIP GLOSS BRANDS:
Co.Bigelow, Organic Wear, Victorias Secret Beauty Rush, Neutrogena MoistureShine.

she said, he said, they said, then I said...she said what?!

I'm here.
I have been racing to get caught up with my schoolwork, and I'm pretty much there...general school-wise.

I'm sorry I've been gone.
This time I really am.
I know that I have said sorry so many times before but I have been meaning to blog for a while now. But I guess you all understand...whoever you all are.

Since the past blog post I have:
1. Designed and sewn a tote. I'm planning on selling them online on Etsy...there pretty cute.
2. Sketched like crazy!!! I now have a binder full of fashion croquis!!
3. Got several new models on my list.
4. Performed twice.
5. Upgraded my iPod!!!!!!!!!

OH- AND DID I FORGET TO MENTION THE MOST AMAZING THING...EVER?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????
I. AM. -LORD WILLING-. GOING. TO. THE. OWL. CITY. CONCERT.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like, I had wanted to go, but I never expected to actually BE ABLE TO GO.
I cried when my mom said yes. Tears of joy, of course.
I'm not a fangirl, btw.
NOW, I need to refresh the look of this blog, yes?
Time for a makeover.

i am deprived of lint rollers

I am thankful that I can walk, eat, see and hear and that I can breathe on my own and not use one of those iron lung things. I'm thankful my mom and dad are together and that we are all pretty much healthy.

Yesterday we had a biology test. It was open note and I think I'll get a C+ or B. I hope B.

Last night on the way home from the home depot (we are re-doing our downstairs bathroom) and from getting black slacks for my Orchestra concert, my mom said "you could totally make those!" those meaning those chunky, super loose scarfs that haunted us everywhere we go. (But I love them!). And that would mean crocheting.
I HATE crocheting.
"Or you could make me one." I said, joking.
"no."

OH MY WORD THE MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE!! I JUST REMEMBERED!!!!!!
THANK YOU GOOGLE!

October 18, 2009

am i the only one who THOUGHT 'where the wild things are' would be lame?

maybe i was.
WAS.
I saw it on Friday with one of my friends. And one of my most disliked-humans-on-the-planets brother was just a few rows up above us.
awkward...

today-LORD willing- Dana and I are going thrifting later today after her bible study. Photoshoot maybe?

So here's a little bit of fashion I decided on;
With this fall's collections being so full of edgy, rock 'n roll pieces and black-on-black, why not step outside of the box and replace your black nails for ultra-girly bubble gum pink?
You don't have to be a prep to wear it!
Go for an unexpected look (if you like dark clothing) and wear a shimmery shade on your fingers!
My personal favorite shade of pink nail polish is 'Charged Up Cherry' from the OPI Bright collection. Or 'Ruby Sequin' from Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength collection.

IMPORTANT URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!

So one of my friends, Lisa O passed out last night at havdalah and was taken to the hospital. She is now (yes, RIGHT now as I type this dramatic message) under surgery to get her appendix removed.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.

Make Your Own Fashion Emergency Kit

So I came up with the idea of a 'Fashion Emergency Kit' about 45 minutes ago. Then I googled it, just to be sure that know one had taken my idea. Well, it turns out that there already are Fashion Emergency Kits.

But why should you pay for a kit when you already have the stuff (or most of it) to make your own?

Lets make our own Fashion Emergency Kit.

So first off your going to need something to carry all your essentials in. How about an old cosmetic bag? It can be crappy or chic, anything works.

STUFF TO BE SURE TO ADD:
A tube of mascara
Bobypins
Compact mirror
Q-Tips
2 cotton swabs
2 Ponytail holders
A tube of chap stick
Tweezers
Fingernail clippers
Floss/Flossers

When it comes to mascara, just take an older bottle or one that you never use or that don't like as much as your regular mascara.

For the compact mirror I used my brush/compact mirror Conair thing.
THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO ADD:
Clear nail polish
Nail file
Small scissors
Sewing kit
Okay...so obviously this turned more into a Beauty Emergency Kit, but hey, better safe then sorry!
Have any ideas for other things that you could add to your kit? Share it with us by posting a comment!

chag sameach!

In case you haven't figured it out yet...I'm Messanic.
I'm sure that will decrease that hits and visitors on my blog but oh well.

And just in case you haven't realized it yet, this blog- my blog- has turned from an all-fashion product-review into a my life.
And I like it like that.

But don't worry, this blog is about my life and so it must be about fashion also, since fashion is a big part of meh life.

So last night (Erev of Sukkot AND Erev of Shabbat Oooh two in one!) our congregation was under the large sukkah, singing and stuff. I was out of the sukkah, around the fire with some of my freezing friends.

Uggs- Ugh or love?
My friend Morgan had a pair of these cute Uggs. (I usually hate Uggs but these looked really cute on her and how she was wearing them).
They weren't tucked into any over-sized sweat pant *shivers*, they wern't paired with guy's basketball shorts, they were with good skinny jeans that looked good on her.

So, why am I on at 10:41 in the morning on a Shabbat? Shouldn't we be trekking that hour distance to shul? Well, my brothers are in baseball and so the games unfortunately fall on Shabbat. I usually get a ride with someone but today I have to go to the game and THEN we will head down to service.
Like, right now they are warming up or something and then I'll go to there game.

September 25, 2009

of now, I am going to *try* to call Converse shoes Chuck Taylors.

sorry- yet again- for the lack of updates.
no joke, this isn't some 'sorry blahblah' thing, I am really sorry.
Well- kinda.

An update on my non-personal life:
-I'm now in a symphony orchestra, 2nd trumpet.
-I have been sucked into the whole 'Kegan Water' joke. ugh.
ummm i can't think of anything else. LOL.

You know what bothers me? when people who don't have official real Converse All Star shoes call their shoes Converse. So, as of now I am going to try to call Converse shoes Chuck Taylor's.
....yeah.

Speaking of Conv- I mean, Chuck Taylors, idk if i already showed you guys but my friend from Fashion Class had clear Chuck Taylors.

So when we were camping I didn't bring shampoo 'cause I used to use this Garnier stuff but it was the Costco size so my mom brought her shampoo stuff and I used that. Her shampoo was Pantene. But, I didn't want to go a week without washing my hair, so I used it.
Besides, I guess I should try a product before I trash it. So, I tried it out.

And you know what happened? I ended up buying some Pantene shampoo & conditioner.

September 24, 2009

I can't think of what color to do

EEEKKKK!!!
Yesterday I was informed by the drama teacher that I am in charge of the costumes for the play!!!!
The play?
Yeah, its a Shakespeare thing. I decided to join so I could do costumes and stage crew and stuff.

September 16, 2009

okok

I haven't updated for like a trillion years and you guys will prolly have to wait another million until a good, nice and juicy fashion post comes up.
I'm just busy with school, trumpet, orchestra, biology...the list goes on and on.

Last week we were camping so that's why I didn't update at all last week.

I'm thinking of writing a whole bunch of fashion posts in my spare time maybe in a few weeks and then releasing them one by one but yeah.

Thanks for understanding.

September 3, 2009

my coumputer thinks its a dinasour

*rips hair out* I have nothing to wear!!!
I'm going to this one thing in two hours and have noting to wear that agrees with the weather!! I wanted to do this vintage skirt, layered grey and white rib knit tank tops and a vest but guess what?? the day I want to wear a more summery outfit, it just has to be OVERCAST!!!!

Did I say something about 'fall is fabulous?' psh!! only when you have clothes that are fit for fall! I'm still in my summer wardrobe!!

drama.

9:55~ Rest asured! I have found my outfit for today!!!
Dark wash Charlotte Russe jeans, white tshirt layered with a navy knit vest, gold vintage ring thing and long sliver h&m necklace.
phew. That was a close one.

September 2, 2009

its the time we waste, swallowed into space

I am obsessed with the song 'Blow Away' by A Fine Frenzy.

SEPTEMBER IS HERE! That means fall will be kicking in high gear soon!!!!!!!

I love autumn. The colors, smells, weather, boots, jackets, scarfs and did I mention jackets?

Fall is fabulous!!!!!!

I went on a very short walk down into the woodlandzzz today and shot a bit (with my camera, don't worry). The walk was just short because I would take soooo long to shoot.
This school year is going to be crazzyy. Like, really busy.

But I love (at the moment, I prolly won't love it when it actually starts) the drama of it all. drama? I'm going to do a Shakespeare class (I'm planning on doing stage crew and costumes).
Oh, and biology. :P ugh. But I need to knock out my high school science stuff so yeah.

I really want to start sewing my own designs. Not some boring old skirt pattern but like, my designs. Yeah, I know that I can tweak the patterns and stuff but YEE.

Michael Kors Fall 2009

I have fallen in love with this collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAZING! LOVE IT!
Well..I love everything but those weird flappy-dog-ear-puffy-pompom-go-nnneahh-snaw hats. ew.

I'm excited for the new Project Runway season...!!!

August 21, 2009

the sun soon will sink below the horizon, into it's hiding place...

Neighbors stink.
Like, I can hear them! right now!
shuuttt up!

Yesterday (heah) -MMMM IT SMELLS LIKE CLEAN LANDRY-anyways, OH WOA WHY DOES IT SMELL ALL THE WAY IN HERE?? one sec. ~6:40

6:41~ oh woa. the dryer was like, on and so I pulled the lint collector thing out and checked it...the load before didn't have like, anything on it so I didn't clean it off (there was like, nothing to clean off) yet, my mind was like, "clean it off." and I didn't and now the dryer is sweltering so I can't dry the stuff that's in the dryer cus it is yeah.

ANYWAYSSS. Where was I? Oh yeah. So yesterday we did a photo shoot and here's one of the pics.

eat couture.

[necklace 1; juicy couture, necklace 2; old dollar store find, shirt; hollister]

Hollister? yee. It's not really truly in fashion but here it works.

August 16, 2009

note to ourselves: H&M.

Oh I really want to go to Seattle. Right now. lol.
The skys are blue, warning us to soak up the sun before we get soaked in rain.
But honestly, on Friday morning I woke up, walked into the hallway and looked out the huge hallway window and saw grey.
I was happy.

Ugh. Chores, chores, chores and a zillion pounds of SCHOOLWORK.

Prada, Fall 2009 RTW

There's those Mohawk heels....
So far, on all the coats, I love them. Other things like the fur dresses.......not so much. I would post the fur dress, but the model is terribly and hideously thin, and the dress cuts pretty deep down, so we will just skip that one.

What do you think of the new collection? Post your comments!

August 14, 2009

hair cutz

I need a hair cutz deeply.
I also need to work on my school. Oh yay, 'The Discipline of Politics' wooooooooooooooo fuun in the SUUUNN.

Um yeah, I kind just came along to let you all know that I have been thinking of the blog and haven't abandoned it or anything. Sorry for my lack of updates but yeah.

August 9, 2009

sorry for the lack of updates...I've been at camp.

that I will go with a yellow/white bedroom or a green/white w/ a little bit of yellow bedroom.

White walls occurred to me at one point but then I said no, just because I am in love with the color white I would like, not do white walls....well I would prolly but my moms like, "Why would you do white when you can do color?" so yee.

Like, I looked at IKEA for some inspiration but there wasn't that much- I'm stuck between modern and traditional.Which like, two of the large pieces in my room is modern, so I am kinda stuck with that- which is prolly good cus then yeah.

Then again, I do not like my golden yellow walls so why would I like, want to go with another yellow? maybe if its more yellow, watery whiteish then that would be more refreshing and soft then a bold, vibrant almost gold.

Blue? nah, I haven't really ever been a blue-room person. But I do love navy.

I definitely love the minimalist look, with not allot of 'stuff'. Clean, contemporary lines- yes I guess I will go with modern. Not like I had a choice anyway.

I know, I know that a room shouldn't look like its out of a page in a magazine, but what if it was Domino magazine??

July 31, 2009

you know that empty-hole feeling you feel when your like, left out of something? well, I don't feel that.

So last night we had a camp meeting (again).

We got our T-shirts. As a few girls swarmed around the cardboard box I panicked (not really LOL) HOPPING that we wouldn't get some hideous neon green or whatever.

Did my eyes deceit me?
Were they sensible in the color choice?
What is going on here?!
Something is not right!! They are not neon!
They are....pink?
Pink?

I blinked, looking over the stack of shirts one of the ladies held. More pink then lavender, so the seniors (us) got pink...strange.

I still didn't believe it as Anna went over and took a chunk for the 5's (the unit were grouped in, we lead 5B) she tossed some to the 5A's and then, I got mine.

"OHMYGOODNESS! I AM SOOO HAPPY ITS PINK AND NOT SOME HORRID NEON!" I exclaimed to Anna, who didn't really care. This was amazing!! AND the pink was a good pink, not hot pink, not baby pink, a good pink!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!

So there is this girl who I am acquainted with, Claudia*. I've known her for a long time now and shes been in a troop with me for about 2 years. Anyway, she usually is wearing dark, heavy makeup (she is NOT emo/scene) on the eyes and at this meeting she was without any makeup.
"Oh Claudia!! I like you without all that makeup! it looks so much better!!"

"You really think so?" She asked. Her friend Isabella* was standing beside her, Isabella had also been in the same troop as me for 2 years. She kinda creeps me out...ANYWAYS, she chuckled like, 'uuum ok shes weird'. I ignored her.

"Yeah!" I smiled, getting all my stuff together.

She paused, thinking for a moment, "Ok, well, see ya around."

*name changed for like, yeah

July 29, 2009

back at home

AND SWELTERING MY GUTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE need OUR AC FIXED!!
This is SO dramatic.

*sigh*
seeing that I can't control the weather I shouldn't complain.

The entire flight I read 2 magazines, (Harper's Bazaar and InStyle). Combat Blue is in...mascaras? Hmm.
But I DID read in InStyle that if you just do black (Brown may look more fabulous) then blue on the tips.
All the blue mascaras they recommended were like, $20.00. But you can get the CoverGirl Exact Eyelights mascara in the one for blue eyes and its like blue. LOL. Plus its only about $7.00

July 28, 2009

you are so not buying an 'Alaskan Grown' sweatshirt.

heading back home today. Lord willing, of course.
Got the new InStyle and Harper's Bazaar magazines to read on the plane. I am trying to NOT read them yet! soooo tempting...the fall fashions.....
My cousin Kelly took me to get some mineral makeup stuff, which rocks!!! Now I have some powder that actually matches my skin tone!! plus amazing 'ivy league' gel eyeliner!! Oh, the brand is Cor Cosmetics.

I'm almost all packed up so yeah! Just waiting around for 3:00....SUSPENSE.
I think I will go get some salmon.

July 27, 2009

ugh. I hate using 'haha' in text. It looks to like, "Ah haha" ya know?

Another great day with Kelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to the spa she works at (shes a skin care person and massage person plus facial person. LOL.) it smelt SO SO SOOO good there like, AHH so good.
As a gift she gave me skin things from the line PCA Skin. Ekk! I am so excited!

The first boutique we went to was called 'Her Turn', where they had some awesome vintage-inspired stuff. I tried on this amazing yellow dress by Plastic Island. Seriously I thought Plastic Island was only online but it wasn't! If that dress was $2 I would get 7. LOL but it was $120 or something.

Every time we went into a boutique I had to ask if I could take pictures. I love how Kelly would go, "She is a fashion student, she's studying the store layout and facade of it'" then they would smile and say, "ok, go for it!"

Their were two ladies setting some product up and next thing I knew one lady in a long, black, white and fuchsia maxi dress started talking to me. Her name was Jessica.

The product they were setting up was Sweet Notions, (Sweetnotions.org) where they turn old accessories into fab new creations and donate the profit. They said to keep in touch and would like to hear about my progress as a designer. (Designer? lol what?)

UGH OK NO 'haha''s. Idk why but I just can't stand them! It looks (to me personally) to like, ambercrombie-flip-flop-girl-text-with-her-touchscreen-oh-lol-backward-smilie-face. LOL. Yeah, I just changed my haha to a lol.

This cute Cole Haan bag? $295.00

LOVE the color of the Kensie jacket, but I don't really love the jacket itself.

July 26, 2009

"really Kelly?? Are you sure?"

Where do I start??!
OK, lunch.

So my cousin Kelly, her son Nick, his gf Katie and I went to some really good restaurant and ate. Katie had to get to work and Nick had to drive her so yeah.

Kelly and I departed in her bright yellow Ford Escape. Most boutiques were closed, but 'Shy' wasn't!! We spent allot of time in the beautiful boutique. The sales person was really kind and let me take pics so yeah!

I tried on a DVF wrap dress. It was SO COOL. At first it was confusing but I got it. LOL. I've only heard of 'faux wraps' and this was like, a real wrap dress!!!! And the fabric was silk but it was so heavy! And It didn't feel like silk, it was really nice. Heavy yet not like, wool-billy-billy-goat heavy. : )

Then Kelly came back with like, 4 different dresses for me to try on. The first one was a Rebbecca Taylor black one that was like, red-carpet worthy. The second one was a more retro pumpkin-orange one which was ehh and then there was another really cute black one that was like, really cool. The last was my most favorite of alll!! I totally forgot which was black with a cream embroidery...Kelly described it as very 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'

Kelly bought a pair of jeans..I think they were a dark wash J Brand. Amazing!!

After 'She' we went into Nordstom to use the bathroom. I looked around in the Misses department. They have dozens of thousands of beautifulllll coats!!!! Like this one fabulous chocolate leather one...ekk!

They are having some sale going on, basically instead of $500 for a pair of socks its $250. Oh what a deal. :P

We wandered down to the shoe department where I saw some cute suede boots that were marked down to like, $50. Which I think is extremely good for good quality boots that will last me a few years. (And yeah I say only a few years because my feet are still growing).

For me personally this kind of thing is motivating. Motivating to like, work hard so then I can someday walk in one of these stores and actually buy something.

Work hard and you will succeed!

9:49....eating somekinda healthy cereal stuff...

today after church me and my cousin (shes my moms cousin so were not sue what that makes her to me but yeah) and I are going to go look around!!! It will be fun!
kinda short post (KINDA?! lol yeah!)

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara Review

What a mouthful!! Just for someone to say, "Yeah, I use the Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara."

My mom picked up the copycat yellow tube a while back, and is not impressed. I jumped at the chance to use this stuff, remembering that I've seen it in on TV.

"It's absolutely horrid. It may give you length, but defiantly not volume. It made my lashes look very stringy."

First off: it seems to me like it's an imitation of the Covergirl Last Blast Mascara. Not cool.

The packaging is similar to the orange tube. Its a wide, bright yellow tube is accented with purple, the cap quite large as well.

When you unscrew the cap, a large, messy wand appears, drowned in the mascara. "Plus, it smells nasty."

BEFORE USING

AFTER USING

As you can see, my lashes may have length, but there is clearly no volume. Length may be good, but volume is great. And for me personally, I prefer bolder lashes instead of the natural-looking ones.
The mascara flakes off really easily and smudges throughout the day. I can honestly say this is the worst mascara I have ever used besides the organic stuff (Who really needs organic mascara, anyway??)

I am not really a big fan of Maybelline's mascaras, but I do love there foundations! :)

July 23, 2009

maybelline superstay silky foundation: does it really stay put?

After buying the Covergirl Trublend and being thoroughly disappointed with the lack of coverage, greasy residue on your face and strange oily shine, I started watching reviews on the product.
Every person I watched had negative feelings towards it. Good thing it was only about $5.

The only good thing about the Covergirl Trublend Liquid Foundation was the color options. But whats the point of a perfect match with next-to-nothing coverage?

A few days later I was in the local drugstore and I came acrost a small display advertising a Maybelline foundation. I forgot what the foundation was called but It was similar to the product I have now.

A week later and tones of reaserch later, I bought the Maybeline Superstay Silky Foundation in the lightest shade.
I was skeptical, how could this stuff really stay put the entire day without transferring? Beats me.
This stuff stays. I mean- it holds tight through out the entire ENTIRE day

For example; a few days ago my family and I went hiking up a glacier in Alaska. The wind was so ferice, plastering the trees to the ground and rain pelting on us sideways. Whenever I rubbed my soaking sleeve on my face nothing came off. Expect I do remember a smudge from my chin wiping off but besides that it was all good.
Now that is what I call, super stay.
