you know that empty-hole feeling you feel when your like, left out of something? well, I don't feel that.

So last night we had a camp meeting (again).

We got our T-shirts. As a few girls swarmed around the cardboard box I panicked (not really LOL) HOPPING that we wouldn't get some hideous neon green or whatever.

Did my eyes deceit me?
Were they sensible in the color choice?
What is going on here?!
Something is not right!! They are not neon!
They are....pink?
Pink?

I blinked, looking over the stack of shirts one of the ladies held. More pink then lavender, so the seniors (us) got pink...strange.

I still didn't believe it as Anna went over and took a chunk for the 5's (the unit were grouped in, we lead 5B) she tossed some to the 5A's and then, I got mine.

"OHMYGOODNESS! I AM SOOO HAPPY ITS PINK AND NOT SOME HORRID NEON!" I exclaimed to Anna, who didn't really care. This was amazing!! AND the pink was a good pink, not hot pink, not baby pink, a good pink!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!

So there is this girl who I am acquainted with, Claudia*. I've known her for a long time now and shes been in a troop with me for about 2 years. Anyway, she usually is wearing dark, heavy makeup (she is NOT emo/scene) on the eyes and at this meeting she was without any makeup.
"Oh Claudia!! I like you without all that makeup! it looks so much better!!"

"You really think so?" She asked. Her friend Isabella* was standing beside her, Isabella had also been in the same troop as me for 2 years. She kinda creeps me out...ANYWAYS, she chuckled like, 'uuum ok shes weird'. I ignored her.

"Yeah!" I smiled, getting all my stuff together.

She paused, thinking for a moment, "Ok, well, see ya around."

*name changed for like, yeah

back at home

AND SWELTERING MY GUTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE need OUR AC FIXED!!
This is SO dramatic.

*sigh*
seeing that I can't control the weather I shouldn't complain.

The entire flight I read 2 magazines, (Harper's Bazaar and InStyle). Combat Blue is in...mascaras? Hmm.
But I DID read in InStyle that if you just do black (Brown may look more fabulous) then blue on the tips.
All the blue mascaras they recommended were like, $20.00. But you can get the CoverGirl Exact Eyelights mascara in the one for blue eyes and its like blue. LOL. Plus its only about $7.00

July 28, 2009

you are so not buying an 'Alaskan Grown' sweatshirt.

heading back home today. Lord willing, of course.
Got the new InStyle and Harper's Bazaar magazines to read on the plane. I am trying to NOT read them yet! soooo tempting...the fall fashions.....
My cousin Kelly took me to get some mineral makeup stuff, which rocks!!! Now I have some powder that actually matches my skin tone!! plus amazing 'ivy league' gel eyeliner!! Oh, the brand is Cor Cosmetics.

I'm almost all packed up so yeah! Just waiting around for 3:00....SUSPENSE.
I think I will go get some salmon.

July 27, 2009

ugh. I hate using 'haha' in text. It looks to like, "Ah haha" ya know?

Another great day with Kelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to the spa she works at (shes a skin care person and massage person plus facial person. LOL.) it smelt SO SO SOOO good there like, AHH so good.
As a gift she gave me skin things from the line PCA Skin. Ekk! I am so excited!

The first boutique we went to was called 'Her Turn', where they had some awesome vintage-inspired stuff. I tried on this amazing yellow dress by Plastic Island. Seriously I thought Plastic Island was only online but it wasn't! If that dress was $2 I would get 7. LOL but it was $120 or something.

Every time we went into a boutique I had to ask if I could take pictures. I love how Kelly would go, "She is a fashion student, she's studying the store layout and facade of it'" then they would smile and say, "ok, go for it!"

Their were two ladies setting some product up and next thing I knew one lady in a long, black, white and fuchsia maxi dress started talking to me. Her name was Jessica.

The product they were setting up was Sweet Notions, (Sweetnotions.org) where they turn old accessories into fab new creations and donate the profit. They said to keep in touch and would like to hear about my progress as a designer. (Designer? lol what?)

UGH OK NO 'haha''s. Idk why but I just can't stand them! It looks (to me personally) to like, ambercrombie-flip-flop-girl-text-with-her-touchscreen-oh-lol-backward-smilie-face. LOL. Yeah, I just changed my haha to a lol.

This cute Cole Haan bag? $295.00

LOVE the color of the Kensie jacket, but I don't really love the jacket itself.

July 26, 2009

"really Kelly?? Are you sure?"

Where do I start??!
OK, lunch.

So my cousin Kelly, her son Nick, his gf Katie and I went to some really good restaurant and ate. Katie had to get to work and Nick had to drive her so yeah.

Kelly and I departed in her bright yellow Ford Escape. Most boutiques were closed, but 'Shy' wasn't!! We spent allot of time in the beautiful boutique. The sales person was really kind and let me take pics so yeah!

I tried on a DVF wrap dress. It was SO COOL. At first it was confusing but I got it. LOL. I've only heard of 'faux wraps' and this was like, a real wrap dress!!!! And the fabric was silk but it was so heavy! And It didn't feel like silk, it was really nice. Heavy yet not like, wool-billy-billy-goat heavy. : )

Then Kelly came back with like, 4 different dresses for me to try on. The first one was a Rebbecca Taylor black one that was like, red-carpet worthy. The second one was a more retro pumpkin-orange one which was ehh and then there was another really cute black one that was like, really cool. The last was my most favorite of alll!! I totally forgot which was black with a cream embroidery...Kelly described it as very 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'

Kelly bought a pair of jeans..I think they were a dark wash J Brand. Amazing!!

After 'She' we went into Nordstom to use the bathroom. I looked around in the Misses department. They have dozens of thousands of beautifulllll coats!!!! Like this one fabulous chocolate leather one...ekk!

They are having some sale going on, basically instead of $500 for a pair of socks its $250. Oh what a deal. :P

We wandered down to the shoe department where I saw some cute suede boots that were marked down to like, $50. Which I think is extremely good for good quality boots that will last me a few years. (And yeah I say only a few years because my feet are still growing).

For me personally this kind of thing is motivating. Motivating to like, work hard so then I can someday walk in one of these stores and actually buy something.

Work hard and you will succeed!

9:49....eating somekinda healthy cereal stuff...

today after church me and my cousin (shes my moms cousin so were not sue what that makes her to me but yeah) and I are going to go look around!!! It will be fun!
kinda short post (KINDA?! lol yeah!)

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara Review

What a mouthful!! Just for someone to say, "Yeah, I use the Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara."

My mom picked up the copycat yellow tube a while back, and is not impressed. I jumped at the chance to use this stuff, remembering that I've seen it in on TV.

"It's absolutely horrid. It may give you length, but defiantly not volume. It made my lashes look very stringy."

First off: it seems to me like it's an imitation of the Covergirl Last Blast Mascara. Not cool.

The packaging is similar to the orange tube. Its a wide, bright yellow tube is accented with purple, the cap quite large as well.

When you unscrew the cap, a large, messy wand appears, drowned in the mascara. "Plus, it smells nasty."

BEFORE USING

AFTER USING

As you can see, my lashes may have length, but there is clearly no volume. Length may be good, but volume is great. And for me personally, I prefer bolder lashes instead of the natural-looking ones.
The mascara flakes off really easily and smudges throughout the day. I can honestly say this is the worst mascara I have ever used besides the organic stuff (Who really needs organic mascara, anyway??)

I am not really a big fan of Maybelline's mascaras, but I do love there foundations! :)

maybelline superstay silky foundation: does it really stay put?

After buying the Covergirl Trublend and being thoroughly disappointed with the lack of coverage, greasy residue on your face and strange oily shine, I started watching reviews on the product.
Every person I watched had negative feelings towards it. Good thing it was only about $5.

The only good thing about the Covergirl Trublend Liquid Foundation was the color options. But whats the point of a perfect match with next-to-nothing coverage?

A few days later I was in the local drugstore and I came acrost a small display advertising a Maybelline foundation. I forgot what the foundation was called but It was similar to the product I have now.

A week later and tones of reaserch later, I bought the Maybeline Superstay Silky Foundation in the lightest shade.
I was skeptical, how could this stuff really stay put the entire day without transferring? Beats me.
This stuff stays. I mean- it holds tight through out the entire ENTIRE day

For example; a few days ago my family and I went hiking up a glacier in Alaska. The wind was so ferice, plastering the trees to the ground and rain pelting on us sideways. Whenever I rubbed my soaking sleeve on my face nothing came off. Expect I do remember a smudge from my chin wiping off but besides that it was all good.
Now that is what I call, super stay.

somewhere over the rainnnbowww

I can play that on trumpet. :-)
I've been whistling that song for like a zillion years.

So yeah...were all just waiting for my gma to return from the store so then we can exit to the zoo.........its been like an hour.................................nah!

So yesterday I found some gladiator sandals at Sears ON clearance for $19.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!! THEY ARE FABUALIOUSTIC AND AMASZINGGGZ!!! no pictures yet because I am not on my laptop, but meh momzzz so yeeeee.

They stole my idea..in fashion class I designed a pair of purple knee-high rainboots.......but here are some just like, normal non-rainbooted boots

Come on, who doesn't want a pair of purple shoes??

OH! Shes back. Gotta help unload!

July 20, 2009

I guess some people just don't like to link arms...

Alaska has been great!!!!!! but the sad thing is my cousin, Haley who is like 1 year younger then me is exiting to Florida tomorrow so yeah.

But today my grandma, brothers, mom, Jacob, Haley and Drew (Jacobs close friend) went to the mall.

The mall is really, reallllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy small but yeah..

So my grandma took Haley and I to get our nails done. I got a french! :)
Anyways, my friends dad had a heart attack and his leg (idk which one) from the knee-down is amputated. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we went into Old Navy and then this reminded me to tell you!! NEVER buy the metallic old navy flip flops!!!

I got a pair of the silver ones (which I have to use. blarg!!) last summer and I HATE them!!! They are SO thick and made out of this weird material thing ugh there so horrid.
Stick to the 2 for $5 foamy ones..not the weird metallic ones. They deceit you with there sparkileness!!!

July 17, 2009

last day of fashion class :(

For our last-day-of-class assignment we were commanded to make a garment out of black and white trash bags. I knew that everyone was going to do the dress thing so I did a Poncho!!!!!!! There were three girls in my group (including myself) Madie (who was the model so she couldn't really do anything but hold the stuff in place) and Julia (who did nothing expect give me tape, I asked multiple times if she wanted to help but shes like, "I'm ok").It took SO long to do the hood on the poncho, especially since I decided to line it with white garbage bag for that pizzazz so ummmm yes!!
I am so grateful for the fact that I was able to attend this class!! It was amazing and I really want to go for the full-year next school year.

I have almost everything together for Alaska, expect my iPod and laptop but yeah. Oh and SD Flash drive thing but yeah. :P

I can't believe it's been a year since I went up there last...since my great-grandpa died.....drama.

So my Grandfather in Florida is sick and not digesting his food properly. Last time I checked he was 81 or so...please please pray for him.

Another thing, my Friend's dad was in a motorcycle accident, he collided into a semi. He is in the hospital right now. Please keep him in your prayers.

black holes ARE real

So we went into Seattle today. I was in a group with 4 anime-lovers and 3 of the 4 are more like, punkish girlzzzzzzz so of coarse, they wanted to go into.............Hot Topic.
I have been proud to say that I have never entered that store. but now that would be a lie.

So Lisa (Thankfully she is not one of the 4) seriously forced me, (not like the violent way, but I was restraining) into Hot Topic. I was frozen as my pink converse stepped onto the black grunge cement. shiver.

For literally 5 minutes I stood in that spot, looking around terrified. So much black..so much Gothic stuff....so much bad t-shirts that lets just say...do not have a happy look about them.
Yeah, it was that bad.

For one of the things for the assignment we had to interview a salesperson (we went to Nordstrom). I was the one who eagerly volunteered.
We had to turn in our papers, but once I get mine back I will post the questions and answers!!!

I didn't take a zillion pictures this time, my camera mostly remained in my bag. But I do have pictures of peoples stuff and yeah.

On the way to the class we were listing to the radio and they had the band Tenth Avenue North with them in the studio!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and guess what????? I was in Seattle the same time they were!! It was so awesome even though I didn't see them.

July 13, 2009

Be a rebel, open the wrong side of the popcorn bag.

Tommrow were planning on SEATTLE!! again!! yay!!

Ugh. We have had soooo many assignments for the class and one of them is design a shoe-box window display. So I of coarse went more a more modern, white look. There's this one lady Victoria who worked for Nickelodeon or whatever who now helps with the class and so she stopped by where I was sitting and said maybe it would be a good idea to put more color blahblahblabhhh.
I nodded and smiled, "Ok." "Oh yes!" "Yeah" came out of my mouth allot, while Inside I was just like, just smile and nod...smile and nod....
Yeah, I'm sticking with the all-white.

We also have had to design 3+ 'lines'. I picked casual (not like sweats and T-shirts, casual chic), office and U.S. Navy inspired.
And I was so excited when I finished my office line today. Yay!!
Now I just have to do one more casual look and 1 (MAYBE 2) U.S. Navy-inspired looks.
The teacher keeps saying, "its crunch time, ladies.." and stuff but I'm not totally worried about the drawings anymore since I only have like, 3 to do.
I have kinda a system down (ok, not really) where I work for an hour on one outfit (completely, from the light table to computer).

On the 17th we will be -LORD willing- in Alaska. I am trying to restrain myself from spending $$$ before the trip, so I can get some amazing peice there. But then again, theres not that much up there but oh well! got to pppellz deh eyes, eh??

Seattle tomorrow!!!! yay!
The only thing that is :( about it is that we will be in a regular mall...but whatever! It's still the city!!!!

July 7, 2009

stop speaking in other languages!!! I can't listen in!!

Class was good today, I made a dent in my lines.

Ok so I'd like to inform you of the new Cover Girl Tru Blend liquid foundation.
Recently I bought some with high hopes that it would work, but I should have done my research.

When I applied it it became instantly greasy and oily, and I don't have oily skin! The moment I BRUSHED my fingers against my face it came off. It was horrible.
The thing I do like about it is all the shades it comes in! But that has really nothing to do with coverage.
The coverage was really horrible as well, even if you set it with translucent powder.

So yeah, it doesn't really work all that grannnd on me.

Today in class me and three others gave our report on 1960's fashion. It went OK, like, it could have been way better but yeah.
Like, I wrote the paper (which I will post later in lifez) and then they decided to just take turns reading off and they just used it as like, notes. I wrote it so it sounded more like yeah. I don't really love working in groups. Not that working in this group was bad or anything, but yeah.

July 5, 2009

yes, two in one day. :P

I've been thinking...do I need a partner for the site?

Because obviously I haven't been updating as much as I used to, and I think the last time I posted something about a collection was back with the Jill Stuart thing...nah.

IF I was to have another like, 'team member' I would defiantly be someone who if I asked, 'Can you do an article on ABCDE and make sure you include FGHI in it"

Then the thought comes to mind, What if I made another blog? A blog with a team on it? Say one person does skin product reviews, another covers the latest trends that walk the runway...dramatic pause.

Then that may have you thinking, "ohmigoodness! the blog is closing?!" no, it isn't closing young kittah. Do not fear.

Yeah, I need to think about this.

Pantene- Is really as good as Stacy London says?

I pulled some stuff from the interwebz about the Pantene shampoo and conditioner that Stacy London was sponsoring, to see if it was actually worked for others.
"I really wish my hair would be soft & silky like the model in the commercial w/ Stacy London (What Not to Wear). I've tried Pantene before a couple of years ago, but I wasn't very thrilled. But after seeing this commercial I want to give it another try. I was thinking about the "beautiful lenghts" line. Pantene users or anyone who's tried it-I need your opinions. Thanks!! "

I almost fell for that commercial too!! I have used Pantene, volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and it fried/dried my hair. Took me months to get it to be normal again. The mousse also dried it out terribly. Never again.

I tried Pantene once. It fried my hair. I have no chemical processing at all and it dried it out so bad it wasn't funny. Took 2 weeks of daily in-depth cholestrol treatments to get it back to normal. Oh and this was using both the shampoo and the conditioner.

it makes my hair all poofy and crap when i use it.

No Pantene products [do not] work because they have this chemical that coats your hair with this wax and makes it feel soft but it actually damages your hair and when you wash your hair with Pantene products just feel your hair while its being washed and it will feel very rough and that's the wax coating it.

pantene is rubbish...it actually puts a clear 'film' type stuff around each strand of hair when you wash it..that how it is so shiny but it is basically wrecking your hair in the long run.

My hair dresser HATES Pantene! All of the stylists at my salon can't stand it because of the buildup it creates in your hair and scalp.

Of corse, any hairstylist is going to say that the drugstore over-the-counter product is going to be crap, so you pretty much need to rely on your own personal experience with the product or your friends and family's experience.

July 2, 2009

sorry i haven't updated, this is just a quickiezzz

Fashion classes have rocked mah socks off.
And I didn't wear socks today because it was like, a zillion degrees!! I wore flipflops.

Yesterday we went to downtown Seattle, where we did this one scavenger hunt. Of course I had the blog in mind, and took pictures of everything!!!!
It would take a zillion years to upload to this blog, so you will have to open this link to view them.
Some of the photos are from previous visits to the city, so yeah.
One of the places I saw was TIFFANY'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANDD Tom Ford had some stuff at Mario's!!!!
We went to H&M, where they are having a MASSIVE sale!! Shorts are $15 and shirts $5!! So if there is an H&M near you, I suggest you go check it out!!
I got this really cute tote there.
