411 On Mixing Prints

Mixing prints can look very effortless if done right. Try pairing a very graphic skirt with a subtle floral blouse or cardigan. An easy classic most women don’t consider is stripes with polka dots. Who said you couldn't do it? Put a nautical cardigan with small polka dot tank. Very simple, subtle and fresh.

I put together a few examples using polyvore.com to give you some inspiration:

The first one was very vintage...only a more daring fashionista can pull it off. (But that doesn't mean it can't be you! Just go outside your comfort zone next time your at the store and TRY EVERYTHING ON!!!)

shorts with tights?

Ok so I know how some people think its 'silly' to wear shorts with tights. how they think that 'if it's cold enough to wear tights, you shouldn't be wearing shorts' kinda thing.

Personally, I love it. I have loved it ever since this summer when I took those beloved fashion classes, where I saw a stylish Asian girl wearing them. (I forgot the rest of her outfit...sorry).

First thing- It depends on the outfit. Wearing the shorts with tights can either make it or break it. You need to have the right kind of tights and the right pair of shorts.
You also have to be able to pull it off. If you can't. Then please, don't do this to yourself.

So today, I decided to take a risk and try it for myself. See If I could pull it off.
I think I did.

What I wore today:

Jacket: Kohls, Shorts: Angels Jeans (I got them like 2 years ago), Sweater: Mossimo Supply Co., Cardigan: Old Navy, Beret: Forever 21, Tights: idk, Necklace: Bebe, Earrings: made them myself. Shoes: (you can't see them...lol. They are just patent faux leather black flats with a silver chain going across the front) Payless.

Yup. This outfit was made up of stuff that I already owned and have owned for like, a gazillion years (like the shorts, tights, and cardigan).

So what's your opinion on wearing tights under shorts? Love it or hate it?
Would you wear it?

Now onto another subject.
Yesterday I bought my first ever normal-daily-wear-non-photoshoot-real-real-real LIPSTICK!!!!
It never really came to mind that I, a meer teen, could wear lipstick.
I don't really know why, now that I think of it.
Maybe the thought of 'lipstick is for grown-ups' was ingrained into my head. But who put that thought there?

Either way, I LOVE it!!! I automatically gravitated towards the Revlon section, where I picked out my PERFECT pink. It's 631 'Luminous Pink'. Once again, I must say that I LOVE it.

It glides on SOOO smoothly and feels great. The only thing that I don't like about it is that It doesn't last very long.
haha, now I want to buy lots of other lipsticks!!! I want a berry! another pink! a fuchsia!!

NOW I SEE WHY MY MOTHER ADORES LIPSTICK SO MUCH.

I never did understand this until last night. (if you didn't know, my mom is a HUGE fan of lip gloss. She has like a million tubes in the car, her purse, at her desk and in her makeup bag. Its crazy, but I also love it because I can steal some from her.)

So, in conclusion, I recommend Revlon for lipstick. It's a classic!
